The Bellingham Family Church is a contemporary ministry of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), also known as The Unification Church of Bellingham, Washington. We are blessed with members and friends from other cities of Washington State who are part of our community.
We are people from a wide range of religious and cultural backgrounds, as well as people from no religious background at all. We are a multi-generational church with active youth and a well-deserved reputation for its summer and winter youth camps. As a first timer you’ll be struck by the diversity of faces you’ll see and the intercultural families you’ll meet. You’ll feel comfortable here because we are not about labels; we’re about creating a life with God and others that simply reflects our values.
We are a faith that has something new to offer. Our message is contemporary because it speaks to how God is working in the world right now. Those who hear our message, regardless of whether they were raised with religion or not, feel refreshed and discover a new relationship with God and others.
We are a community of people who:

OUR STORY
FFWPU was founded by Rev. & Mrs. Sun Myung Moon in 1996, as an international and inter-religious association of families who aspire to live according to the values and principles taught by our founders. Together Rev. & Mrs. Moon established many organizations throughout their lives as a way to address the needs of the world and create opportunities to live for the sake of others. However, they believe that the family is the only institution established by God, and that the family is where we truly grow to understand God through the four realms of heart: parental love, children’s love, sibling love, and conjugal love.
Rev. Moon’s lifelong mission began on Easter morning in 1936 at the age of 16. While deep in prayer on a mountain he had a profound encounter with Jesus and was called to continue the work that Jesus had begun.The years that followed were filled with intense prayer, study of the Bible, and serving others. The meaning of Jesus’ words were revealed to Sun Myung Moon through what would later become the Divine Principle. In 1954 Rev. Moon founded the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity. This was the beginning of his public ministry to bring God’s love and peace to the world.
